Aldersgate was once one of the historic entrances to the City of London, part of the old wall that shaped the city’s earliest boundaries.

It stood between movement and protection, between the world outside and the life growing inside the city. Through that gate passed merchants, workers, travellers and generations who helped shape London’s rhythm over time.

For centuries, Aldersgate witnessed the city changing around it. Medieval streets became commercial routes. Stone, brick and iron replaced older structures. London expanded, rebuilt itself and moved forward, but the memory of the gate remained part of the city’s identity.

The original structure was demolished in 1761, yet its name survived. That is what made it powerful to us.

Today, Aldersgate lives on through Aldersgate Street, near St Paul’s Cathedral, and the old London Wall: a place where Roman foundations, medieval memory and modern city life still meet.

For us, that idea became the foundation of the brand: creating essentials with the same sense of purpose, built from materials that come from nature and chosen for their strength, comfort and durability.
